Arugula, Pear, and Blue Cheese Salad

The combination of textures and flavors in the salad make it a simple and wonderful side dish.

This salad incorporates the classic combination of blue cheese, pears, and walnuts. The peppery arugula stands up nicely to the blue cheese, and the lemon juice and pear add brightness. This is a great side salad with steak.

I take help from the supermarket by purchasing glazed walnuts, but you could, of course, make your own. If you are not a fan of blue cheese, goat cheese pairs nicely as well.

Arugula, Pear, and Blue Cheese Salad

Servings: 4



  1. Toss the arugula with the olive oil, pinch of salt, and pepper.

  2. Add the sliced pear and squeeze of lemon juice; toss.

  3. Mix in the blue cheese and walnuts.

    This salad is also good with goat cheese.
